“All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.”  (2 Corinthians 4:15 NIV)

Devotional & Prayer Hour (DPH) caters to enriching individual prayer life in a fulfilling relationship with the Lord.  To put it simply, Prayer is “Talking to God”.  There are two components to DPH:

  1. Personal Time with The Lord:  People are encouraged to pause for a few minutes, Daily around 12:00 O’clock Noon, and Pray.
  2. Home Based Meeting:  Families are encouraged to pray together during a One-Hour Prayer Meeting, held twice a month; on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, at 7:00 p.m.  “Home-Based” is inclusive of the entire family, and there are several ways to participate:

    • Host a Prayer Meeting at your Home for family and friends;
    • Become a Member of a Roving Prayer Team;
    • Volunteer to be a Prayer Partner with Someone;
    • Form Cell Groups and Meet Rotationally in Different Homes.

The goal is that DPH is held concurrently at different places and we are joined in spirit in one accord everywhere, praying together.  Imagine the mighty release of the power of God!  Let us together use our weapon, PRAYER, for one another.

I need not remind us of the ever busy arch enemy- you know who.  We won’t dignify that name, but we know this enemy exists, and threatens to steal our joy and everything good from us.  Tragedy, wars, famine, poverty, being broke, no jobs, sudden death, strokes, terminal diseases, that ugly C word (cancer), sickness, hunger, armed robberies, sufferings, financial constraints, children rebellion, marital and domestic issues, job insecurity, brokenness, unemployment, stress, other people’s problems - are all everyday realities.

Our Lord says “call upon Me … and I will deliver you and you will honor Me.”  It is a promise.  Our God says “those who honor Me, I will honor....”  And, of course, we believe that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord…”  My friends, let us call; that’s a win-win situation whichever way.  As Christians, let us utilize prayer as our weapon of choice.  Our spiritual food must be the Word of God; our clothing the full armor of the Lord.  We have been commanded to “pray without ceasing, for this is the will of God.”  The enemy has no sword that can penetrate the breastplate of righteousness; if, we are wearing it all the time.  We will face trials but we will triumph.  We will defeat whatever comes to destroy us.

The song says “In the name of Jesus, we have the victory.  Tell me who can stand before us when we call upon His name?  Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!  We have the victory.”

Let Us Pray!
