LIGHT TO YOUR PATH

Paul was a disciple of Jesus Christ. He was non-twelve. But Paul was a disciple of Jesus Christ whose impact on the early Christian Church is unparalleled. Paul was a former persecutor of Christians. Paul became a convert after he encountered the resurrected Jesus Christ in a miraculous meeting on a highway. Paul became a staunch follower of Jesus Christ. God inspired Paul to write over half of the books of the New Testament. Like you and I, Paul was a Gentile. The resurrection gave Paul the chance to become a son of God. Like you and I. The Epistles of Paul (Paul’s letter to early Church) are guideposts for Christians, in walking the way of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Ephesians 5:15-21, Paul tells the Christian Church (followers of Jesus Christ) some careful pathways to take. To paraphrase Paul, here’s what I think:

Look carefully then how you walk. In this journey with Jesus Christ, pay attention to your relationship with Christ. Hold strong your beliefs. Do not walk as unwise but as wise. Make the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Spend time reading your Bible. Do not take this world at face value. Do not be foolish. Let God help you make sound judgment. Stay away from foolishness. Understand what the will of the Lord is. God’s will is that you accept Jesus Salvation to get to God. Do not get drunk with wine. Getting drunk is debauchery. Be filled with the Spirit [God’s Holy Spirit]. God the Holy Spirit dwells in you. Activate the connection by receiving Christ and the Holy Spirit will remain in you to guide, comfort, sustain, and equip you. Address one another in Psalms. Speak the Psalms in your daily conversations. Sing Hymns. Share your faith with others. Sing spiritual songs. Hum and make melody to the Lord with your heart. Give thanks always for and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Submit yourself to one another out of reverence for Christ.

People of God, sing Hymns, speak the Psalms, and make spiritual melody with our voices for Jesus!
