In the early dawn of Good Friday 2007, I received a visitation from Jesus Christ in which the Lord instructed His servant to deliver a message to Monrovia, Liberia. The below red-ink text is the word from the Lord as divinely imparted to Hortense Grimes on April 6, 2007.

A MESSAGE TO MONROVIA

“It Shall Not Be:  Clean Up The Place That I May Live Amongst You.”

“WHEN I PASS OVER THE NATION,” SAYS THE LORD, “THE STENCH OF THE MORAL FILTH FILLS MY NOSTRILS.  WHY SHOULD LIBERIA BECOME A WASTELAND?”  “NO, SAYS THE LORD; IT SHALL NOT BE.”

“It is I that made you prosperous.  It is I the Lord that have caused you to remain a nation still standing among the nations of the world.  It is I the Lord that saved you from extinction.  It is not my desire to see you perish.  I AM, the Lord.  I am a jealous God.  It is I the Lord that feeds you.  It is I the Lord that let you enjoy the generosity of others.  It is I the Lord that keeps your borders safe.  I the Lord keep you from being a prey.  It is I the Lord that watches over the cities as you sleep.  When I pass over I want to stay in your midst but the stench that seeps out of the nation reaches my face swiftly.  I cannot stay.  The stench of the moral filth greatly fills my nostrils.  I pass by.  Why should Liberia become a wasteland?  No, it shall not be.  Clean up the place that I may live amongst you.”

“Those that call me Lord; Do you even Know Me?
You call me Lord, Lord: Yet you do not Fear Me.
You call me Lord, Lord, and Defile my Holy Places.
You call Me Lord, and do not the things I say: You have no Respect for My Word.
You call me Lord, Lord, yet Mock my Commandments.
You call me Lord, Lord, but Seek Not My Counsel.
You call me Lord, Lord, and have no Love for Me.
You call me Lord: am I your Lord?  Am I your God? ”

MY FRIENDS:  THE LORD IS DEMANDING CHANGE IN OUR WAYS.

God is a God of second chances.  When we make the effort to change, whatever it is that plagues our land - be it national curse or carelessness – will be cleansed and we will start afresh, with hope, that massive efforts to nation build are not lost.  The Lord, the God of all Mankind, wants to stay!  Yes, change can happen.  The citizens of a nation are members of families.  The head of a family is the leader of that family.  Faulty family heads brew faulty leaderships in every aspect.  Soiled families produce soiled citizens which naturally produce contaminated societies.  Since nations are built on a foundation of family, community and society, families may lead the way in making change happen and persist.

The stench prevails and the nation decays when the foundation is flawed.  Building on a grimy foundation produces characterless structures, physically and morally.  The cycle continues unless the foundation is corrected.  Let us fix the foundation by strengthening family values.  It is said, “The family that prays together stays together.”  The head of a family should initiate change in the value systems of their family.  Those changes will spill over into the community, the society and the nation.  Change is maintained as families, inspired from within, begin to nurture good citizens.  Good always triumphs over bad.

Noble characters accomplish noble deeds.  Noble deeds translate into positive rewards, one of which is decent citizens working to eradicate moral filthiness, thereby restoring pleasant air.

“If God doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks.  If God doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap.”  (Psalm 127:1 - The Message Bible).

Liberians, PAUSE TO PRAY.  Call upon the Name of the Lord, Jehovah God.  He alone can help Us fix Us and those things we do that cause Him grief.  Spend time with Jesus and begin a Revival of Mindset.  God will bless our efforts.

Be blessed!
